Interpretation Technology Check-Out Request Form

These tools are available to borrow for both schools and PTAs. Schools have priority reservations, so for school staff, please ensure that you reserve the equipment that you need a minimum of two weeks ahead of your event. Within two weeks of an event date, PTAs are then able to reserve the devices.
POCKETALKS
Pocketalks are one-on-one machine interpretation devices that can be spoken into. These are available to be checked out for use at tabling events, such as the Family Symposium, or to help with greeting multilingual attendees at a presentation-based event.

Please note: These are not capable of interpreting a presentation. If you need interpretation of a presentation, please arrange a human interpreter.
INTERPRETATION HEADSETS
Interpretation headsets support up to 8 languages of interpretation at once, depending on the physical location. These headsets are for use in conjunction with a live human interpreter - they do not automatically interpret. Please make sure to schedule an interpreter for your event if using the headsets. Each set of headsets consists of 20 audience receivers/headphones and two transmitters.

Remember, for school- or District-sponsored events aimed to educate or inform families, the central budget will cover the interpretation cost for the 2-3 (3 in the case of a tie) top-requested languages! For NSD staff, request an interpreter for your event here.
